'Best thing to come from Apple in years !'
Strengths:
The simple touch system use to control the functions means there's little chance you bust the play button after a year or two making it a life long friend able to cary thousands of your favourite songs.
Weaknesses:
Not that its a problem but since the release of the 40 gig the 10 gig seems rather small, and the mandatory itunes setup is a bit anoying in the sense that you cannot do anything on the ipod unless you first do it on the setup in itunes on your computer. If you delete anything from your pc or lose the files your stuffed. Also You could get a slightly longer battery life i get more time out of a discman and a set of AA's.
Overall:
Great little gadget and would love to see the improvements made on the newer models, hopefully they will free the divice to run, load and save without constant itunes support. A bit on the pricey side but you will get every pennies worth out of it.
