'NICE LOOKING.PURE DIGITAL SOUND, DIGITAL EVERYTHING.....'
Strengths:
Slim, cool running, nice design. Sounds very clear even at low volume. Very good surround performance. Typical Sony quality.
Weaknesses:
Sound a bit cool and harsh, pure digital sound, lack a bit of low ends. Not enough connections.
Overall:
Not bad for the price that I paid. I like its slim design. In fact, I did not expect a world class performer inside this Sony package. But what can you ask for in such a small pretty casing! In fact, I just found out that this so call "S-Master Pro" receiver is one of those "digital Class-D" amplifiers. People swear with their analogue tube/solid state/Class-A amplifiers, but then you'll probably pay ten times more for that kind of warmer, smoother sound. What I do is, adjusting the tone/base to +2. Not a bad amp, anyway, I have to justify my own buying, haven't I?
