'GOOD SOUND, EASY TO USE, SMALL AND AFFORDABLE'
Strengths:
- touch-sensitive buttons
- Good sound quality
- Nice case
- Very small
Weaknesses:
- Only 7 hours of battery life
- Doesn't show folders, organises songs by MP3 tags only
Overall:
You can use the player to playback about 80 hours of music (MP3, 128kbit/sec) or reserve up to 2GB for data storage. It connects to the PC via USB 2.0 for a quick transfer of songs and files.
The display is black and white only but backlit in blue. The whole device is very small and fits into every pocket. It comes in 10 different colours.
Although the Zen micro is pretty small, it’s very easy to use because of it’s touch-sensitive keys. Scrolling through the song lists can be a bit difficult sometimes because the scroll field sometimes interprets scrolling as selecting – but that’s not a big deal. The menus are clearly labelled and pretty straightforward.
The supplied headphones sound good but not perfect. They lack a powerful bass and don’t cope very well with high volume. So you better get new big headphones to replace these ones because the player itself can playback powerful sounds with rich bass beats.
Conclusion: It’s a good alternative to the pricey Apple iPod Mini. Good sound and small size make the Zen Micro a nice portable mini player.

'ATTRACTIVE, CLEAR SOUND AND EASY TO USE'
Strengths:
Nice clear sound, comfortable headphones, easy to navigate and attractive little package.
Weaknesses:
Touch pad is far too sensitive which can be extremely frustrating.
Overall:
Overall, I'm really pleased. I've only been using it for a month or so now (and a newbie to the world of mp3 players), but it's perfect for my purposes. It looks good, it sounds good, it's nice and compact, easy to use (apart from the over-sensitivity) and it's affordable.
