'BIG REVELATION'
Strengths:
Stunning sound from good original sources. I agree with other reviews that poor cd's sound exactly that. For this test you need to know your own collection intimately!
I have had reason to talk to Arcam direct and it's very comforting to get such expert, unhurried, and friendly discussion.
Weaknesses:
Slightly noisy loading tray, but this might get better eventually. My CD192 is brand new.
Overall:
First class player for the cost.

'CLASS ACT'
Strengths:
clear and dynamic sound, suprisingly good bass, fantastic sound with good recordings
Weaknesses:
poor recordings sound poor, so you might be tempted to chuck half your cd collection away!
Overall:
very pleased with player, this might sound slightly congested at times with complex recording but overall cant fault it. sure it'll give more expensive players a run for their money

'DETAILED AND DYNAMIC'
Strengths:
Clean, detailed and dynamic sound without getting shouty. Good CD recordings sound stunning!
Weaknesses:
Maked bad CD recording sound awful - but then they should, which implies it is doing its job.
Overall:
Slightly cleaner and less shouty than it older brother the CD93 which I compared it with in the shop. I also preferred it to a higher priced Roksan player which was too bright and nasty for me. Make sure you get good interconnect to hear it at its best!
