'CHEAP UPGRADE TO RECEIVE DIGITAL RADIO ON THE MOVE.'
Strengths: A cheaper way of upgrading your car stereo to listen to digital radio.
Weaknesses: Can be a bit fiddly to fix into your car.
Overall: I recently bought one of these to be able to listen to digiatl radio in my car especially planet rock. It is a relatively easy device to fit if you are fairly confident with working with vehicle electrics. The instructions are helpful though and there is further information available on the revo website (www.revo.co.uk). If you still are unable to install it for just under £50 a professional car stereo installer can fit it for you. It can be installed one of 2 ways, the first way is via the plugs sockets in the back of your stereo head unit these are called RCA sockets but not all have these. The second way and the way i installed mine was via the FM modulator. This makes use of a redundant FM station and transmits the signal through there. They originally retailed for the £200 mark but can now be purchased for under £100. Hunt around on the internet for the best price. A great feature of the revo is that there are a few accessories available such as a remote control, a case, a second car kit to transfer between multiple vehicles and a home docking station to use it through a home hifi or computer. The final gadget available is the one allowing you to use it as a personal DAB radio. I have recently bought the case as i requires a way of protecting it whiilst out of the car. The quality of the reception is excellent but can vary on the part of the country you live in. When i first tuned it in i was able to obatin over 30 differerent stations. It is a silver and black unit and would fit in with the interiors of most cars on the market today. The unit comes with an internal DAB aerial that you install on the windscreen on the passenger side but if you have a heated screen or a sun reflective one it wont work. You can then either use an extention to put the aerial on the rear screen or use an external aerial. The main part detaches from the holder to enable you to remove the device and lessen the chance of it being stolen. The case should be included but unfortuantly it is an accessory but costs less than £7. I thoroughly recommend investing in one as the FM signal switch off isnt many years away now.
