| 'AWSOME LOOKS AND HI-FIDELITY SOUND.' | | Strengths:
I bought this with the money I raised selling off my ageing seperates system which was taking over the living room, I fell in love with the looks and as I mainly listen to mp3 type compressed formats these days I decided this was the way to go and I definately made the correct decision, with the Ipod it sounds sensational, but I also have a Phillips cd850ii plugged into its other line and the sound is awsome. | | Weaknesses:
If you touch it, your greasy fingerprint is there to stay unless you have 10 minutes to clean it off, it only has two inputs, one for dock and a spare line. Sensitive speakers are a must. 90db upwards. | | Overall:
I wanted to simplify my HiFi, something small, good looking and most importantly, sounding good. As my main system was all well respected HiFi seperates, Acoustic Research amp, Ariston turntable, Denon tuner, Phillips CD850, sound was always a worry on a tight budget, but the Fatman is something special, with the Ipod it defies belief, with the CD player I think it is actually better than my Acoustic Research amp, its a good job its good looking because you often find yourself staring at it in disbelief, I was also a bit worried about the power being low but it drives my mission m73 floorstanders with ease and comfort, I am fortunate with these speakers as they are quite sensitive.I have also added an exra input with a clever device from QED called a compact disc switching unit, which gives you two inputs from one,Ebay for a tenner. |
