Available in two flavours, the NWZ-A828 is an 8GB model offering just under 31 hours of music or video (around 1,850 songs) and the NWZ-A826 is a 4GB model offering around 15 hours video or music (around 925 songs).
Battery life is quoted at ten hours video and 36 hours uninterrupted music playback, though this drops dramatically to seven hours video and 15 hours audio if you’re listening via Bluetooth.
The NWZ-A820 supports WMA, copyright-free AAC, MP3 and Linear PCM formats alongside JPEG, AVC (H.264/AVC) Baseline Profile and MPEG4 video running at 30fps via the QVGA screen.
File management is via drag and drop from Windows MediaPlayer 11 using Sony’s bundled Media Manager for Walkman software.
Sound quality is ‘assured’ by four ‘Clear Audio’ technologies such as the Digital Sound Enhancement Engine, Clear Stereo and Clear Bass. Menus are also promised to be ‘intuitive’ and ‘super quick’.
